Shutdown Festival

Unique stage design in the industrial setting of the Zwentendorf nuclear power plant

Every year in early August, the Shutdown Festival transforms the decommissioned nuclear power plant in Zwentendorf on the Danube into a vibrant festival venue. Around 15,000 visitors from over 20 countries gather here to leave their daily lives behind and celebrate their shared passion for electronic music beyond 150 BPM.

From hardstyle and hardcore classics to raw, uptempo, and even terror, the festival covers the entire spectrum of hard dance music, offering something for every taste. Set against the unique backdrop of the never-operational nuclear power plant, Zwentendorf becomes the epicenter of the hardstyle community for one weekend.

Full Scope GmbH played a central role in the festival’s technical production. Commissioned by Revolution Event and working closely with their project team, Full Scope took responsibility for the impressive stage constructions, particularly the massive main stage, which stands as a highlight of the festival each year.

From consultation during the conceptual phase, detailed CAD planning of the stage structures, procurement coordination, and work planning for the decor, Full Scope ensured smooth execution throughout. On-site, they handled project management and coordinated the trades, making sure all technical elements fit together seamlessly.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the team at Revolution Event for the excellent and seamless collaboration that makes this extraordinary project possible year after year.
